Do North Triathlon

August 24, 2024 9:00 am

A sprint triathlon on a closed urban course in the heart of Edmonton’s downtown and river valley.

Athletes will enjoy a lane swim in the gorgeous Queen Elizabeth Outdoor 25m pool.

(Junior Development Series race may be a river swim, TBD).

A quick transition in the park will send athletes out on the bike course, crossing the iconic Walterdale Bridge before turning onto the long straightaway of River Valley Road. A traditional part of our races is the climb of Groat Road up to 107 Ave. Then athletes will enjoy the fast and exciting winding descent. Athletes will complete  2 loops of the bike course before heading back across the  Walterdale bridge and into transition.

All bike course roads are closed to traffic.

The run course will head underneath the Walterdale Bridge onto the running trails on the east side of the bridge into Queen Elizabeth Park. Local runners will know about the challenging hill that leads up into the flat of QE Park. Athletes then turn around and head across Walterdale Bridge on the pedestrian path to tour the north side of the  North Saskatchewan River. The northside path has a lovely treed canopy and is narrow and winding.  Aid station support will be available on both sides of the river. One more trip around Queen Elizabeth Park, including the lovely hill, then athletes descend into the finish chute with the spectacular view of our Edmonton Downtown skyline.

Registration is now OPEN for the TEAM RELAY category!
Entry Fee: $149 / Team
