2024 was a legacy year for Sport Edmonton! 🙌🏀🏒 Together with incredible partners, we brought meaningful projects to life, leaving a lasting impact across our city:

1️⃣ A @wnba inspired Community Basketball Court at Wihkwentowin School, thanks to @exploreedmonton , @nbacanada , EPSB & the @cityofedmonton 🏀
2️⃣ @hoopcity3x3yeg @fresh_nets , replacing 400+ basketball nets and rims all over #yeg with support from @theefcl & @donorthevents 🌟
3️⃣ Football Drop, delivering over 500 footballs in collaboration with @football.alberta & @sportcentral_ab 🏈
4️⃣ Hockey Stick & Puck Drop for the @hlinkagretzky with Hockey Canada 🏒where over 300+ kits were given out directly to community groups
5️⃣ A Running Shoe Drop supporting youth through @freeplayforkids 👟 as a legacy from the Edmonton Marathon
6️⃣ A Basketball Court Refurbishment at McDougall School for the @usportsbball Championships, celebrating the past and future of women in basketball and honoring the historic Edmonton Grads 🏀💪

🏒 Exciting news! We were thrilled to share our Fresh Nets Hockey initiative with @cbcedmonton highlighting our mission to revitalize outdoor community rinks across the city.

Building on the success of our Fresh Nets basketball program, we’re now bringing the same community-driven spirit to Edmonton’s beloved winter pastime. Our goal is simple but impactful: ensuring every outdoor community rink that needs a new hockey net, gets one.

These rinks are the heartbeat of our winter communities - where future stars take their first shots and families create lasting memories.

Thank you @cbcedmonton @connolly2.0 @minners_d for helping us spread the word!

Featuring speakers:

• Giselle Cole - Para Athletic Olympian
All sharing their diverse journeys & including many other stories!
