Sport Edmonton was excited to sit down with the Aimee Skye, President of the Edmonton Female Hockey Alliance (EFHA) to learn more about the history of the organization in Edmonton and the impact it has had in our city for girls and women in hockey.

The Edmonton Female Hockey Alliance (EFHA) was established in 2023 with the mission to unite all female minor hockey players in Edmonton under a single association. This consolidation aims to enhance player development and significantly improve the female hockey experience in Alberta's capital city.

Want to get involved?
🥅 EFHA is currently seeking passionate and experienced coaches for the 2025-26 Edmonton Ice Elite AA program and expressions of interest should be sent to elite@femalehockeyalliance.ca

🥅 EFHA will be looking for volunteers for key roles again in Spring, including assistance with ice allocation, coaching and bookkeeping. Please visit www.femalehockeyalliance.ca.

The first of its kind Women In Sport events was held in the heart of the Ice District with an awe inspiring breakfast and we were honored to take part. Featuring women who have moved the game of hockey forward for years in our city and on the global stage.

Experience the excitement of USPORTS women’s hockey as the MacEwan University Griffins face off against the University of Regina Cougars!

The game will feature prizes, jersey giveaways, and one lucky fan will walk away with a pair of LOGE seats to the sold-out game on Sunday, February 16th. It all takes starts at the Downtown Community Arena on Friday, February 14th, at 7:00 PM.

1️⃣ A @wnba inspired Community Basketball Court at Wihkwentowin School, thanks to @exploreedmonton , @nbacanada , EPSB & the @cityofedmonton 🏀
2️⃣ @hoopcity3x3yeg @fresh_nets , replacing 400+ basketball nets and rims all over #yeg with support from @theefcl & @donorthevents 🌟
3️⃣ Football Drop, delivering over 500 footballs in collaboration with @football.alberta & @sportcentral_ab 🏈
4️⃣ Hockey Stick & Puck Drop for the @hlinkagretzky with Hockey Canada 🏒where over 300+ kits were given out directly to community groups
5️⃣ A Running Shoe Drop supporting youth through @freeplayforkids 👟 as a legacy from the Edmonton Marathon
6️⃣ A Basketball Court Refurbishment at McDougall School for the @usportsbball Championships, celebrating the past and future of women in basketball and honoring the historic Edmonton Grads 🏀💪
