## Our Mission
T.A.N.S.I. Society is an Indigenous-led nonprofit organization committed to reducing barriers, creating access, and building stronger, healthier communities through adaptive sport, lived experience, advocacy, education, and connection.
Our mission is to create opportunities for people to participate, belong, heal, and grow—especially those whose lives have been affected by disability, transplantation, amputation, health challenges, geographic isolation, or limited access to inclusive programs.
We believe access creates movement, movement creates health, and health creates stronger communities.
## Who We Serve
T.A.N.S.I. serves Indigenous individuals, families, youth, schools, and communities while building programs that are inclusive of people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Our work supports transplant recipients, amputees, people living with disabilities, youth discovering adaptive sport, patients travelling from rural and Indigenous communities, athletes seeking opportunities to participate and compete, and organizations looking for meaningful inclusion, reconciliation, and team-building experiences.
Through programs such as iSHOW, iMOVE, iWAVE, and iSAY, we create pathways from first experience to participation, confidence, leadership, wellness, and community connection.
## What Makes Us Unique
T.A.N.S.I. does more than talk about inclusion—we create opportunities for people to experience it.
Our programs are built from lived experience and delivered through hands-on participation. Through wheelchair basketball, adaptive recreation, transportation access, storytelling, and community outreach, participants experience challenges, perspectives, and possibilities they may never encounter in their everyday lives.
We bring programs directly to communities, schools, workplaces, and organizations rather than expecting people to overcome barriers to reach us.
T.A.N.S.I. combines Indigenous leadership, adaptive sport, health experience, education, storytelling, and social impact into one growing network focused on a simple idea:
**One person. One need. One network.**
Our goal is not simply to provide programs. It is to create opportunities that change how people see disability, inclusion, health, community, and one another.
Sport Edmonton is proud to count Transplant Amputee Native Support in Alberta Society as one of our organizational members.
